To achieve ENERGY STAR status, your new home will require neutral/3rd party verification by Independent Home Energy Evaluators who conduct on-site testing and inspections to verify all the criteria are met.

Testing and inspections focus on two main areas.

THE ENVELOPE which consists of walls, insulation, roofing, windows, doors, duct work and the overall tightness of construction to reduce moisture, pollen, heating/cooling costs.

MECHANICAL SYSTEMS such as high efficiency water heaters, furnaces, air conditioning, ventilation units, lighting systems and Energy Star appliances are all part of keeping you comfortable while being sensitive to the environment and “home economics”.

When you decide to pursue ENERGY STAR status for your home, Silverado will assign an ENERGY STAR consultant who will join our team at the outset, consulting with the architect and trades to make sure that your home is in compliance with the guidelines. They will monitor and test throughout the building process to ensure your home becomes registered and ENERGY STAR certified.
